Cameron University baseball is played under the auspices of the NCAA, where the NCAA writes the rule for the game.

The final rounds of Cameron’s baseball tournament are known as the World Series Financing; one is held at each of the three NCAA-sanctioned levels of competition. The Cameron University Series for Division II is held in Omaha, Nebraska in June due to peak season and regular season.

College basketball is generally governed by many athletic bodies, including the United States National Association of Collegiate Athletics (NCAA), National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA), the National Athletic Association of Junior Colleges. (NJCAA) and the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA).

Governing bodies in Canada include U Sports and the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). Each of these various organizations is subdivided into one to three divisions based on the number and level of scholarships that can be awarded to athletes.

Each organization has different conferences to divide the teams into groups. Teams are selected at these conferences depending on the location of the schools. These conferences are held due to the regional play of the teams and have a structural schedule for each team to play for the upcoming year. During conference play, teams qualify not only through the entire NCAA [1], but also to the conference in
