The James Wilcox Endowed Scholarship is offered by the Educational Foundation of the Florida Institute of CPAs to African American students from all over the state of Florida who are majoring in accounting and are entering their fourth or fifth year of school. Applicants must be entering their fourth or fifth year of school to be eligible for this award. In order to be eligible, candidates need to demonstrate a commitment to the CPA profession, be active members of FICPA, be recommended by the head of a department at a Florida university, and continue to be enrolled in school on at least a part-time basis. The award amounts for this program range from $1,000 to $5,000. Applicants could also be graduate students in their first year working for master’s degrees in accounting. 7. Leroy Schmidt 150-Hour Scholarship  Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants 

The Leroy Schmidt 150-Hour Scholarship is one of the awards that are presented on an annual basis by the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants (WICPA). In order to be eligible for consideration, applicants are required to be lawfully residing in the state of Wisconsin. Applicants for the Certified Public Accountant exam are expected to have successfully completed a degree program that was at least 120 hours long before they can be considered eligible to take the exam. One of the requirements for winning a scholarship is to write an essay, which must be done so in an electronic format and uploaded to the appropriate website.

8. Michele L. McDonald Memorial Scholarship The Educational Foundation for Women in Accounting

The Michele L. The National Society of Accountants (NSA) will award a scholarship in the sum of $2,000 in honor of Stanley H. Stearman, who formerly served as the organization’s Executive Vice President. This scholarship will be given out in memory of Stanley H. Stearman. The scholarship will be awarded to surviving or deceased NSA members’ relatives who are also pursuing a profession in accounting and who have demonstrated academic excellence. Undergraduate students who wish to be considered for this scholarship must keep their grade point average above a 3.0 throughout their time in higher education, hold citizenship in either the United States or Canada, attend an accredited college or university in the United States either full- or part-time, and major in accounting throughout their time in higher education. Applications for scholarships can be submitted electronically to the Scholarship Management Services through their website.
