Australian Awards Scholarships (Australia)

Australia Awards Scholarships, formerly known as Australia Development Scholarships (ADS) are scholarships for international students from selected countries in Asia, the Pacific, Africa, and the Middle East who want to study at Australian universities.

The scholarships are for professional education and training courses, undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral degrees. degrees from participating Australian universities and Technical and Further Education Institutions (TAFEs).

Scholarship benefits generally include full tuition fees, return air travel, establishment allowance, Contribution to Living Expenses (CLE), Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), etc.

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) offers scholarships for a variety of postgraduate courses with a special preference for developing countries at German universities.

The scholarships are specifically targeted at international students and young professionals from developing countries in Africa, Asia, Pacific Islands, Central, and South America, and Central and Eastern Europe. DAAD Scholarship supports selected programs with a variety of full or partial scholarships.

Netherlands Scholarship Program (Netherlands)

The Netherlands Scholarship Program (NFP) promotes capacity building within organizations in 51 countries by providing scholarships for the training and education of professionals. The NFP offers scholarships for master’s and doctoral studies. studies or short courses at Dutch universities or academic institutions.

An NFP scholarship is intended to supplement the salary that the scholarship recipient should continue to receive during the study period. The allowance is a contribution to living costs, tuition fees, visas, travel, insurance, and thesis research.

Swedish Institute Study Scholarships (Sweden)

The Swedish Institute offers scholarships in Sweden to highly qualified international students from developing countries who wish to pursue full-time Master’s studies at Swedish universities.

The scholarship covers tuition fees, living expenses, some travel grants, and insurance. About 550 scholarships are offered.

VLIR-UOS Scholarships (Belgium)

VLIR-UOS awards scholarships to students from 54 developing countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America to pursue English-taught training or a development-related Master’s program at universities in Belgium.

The scholarships cover tuition fees, accommodation, allowance, travel costs, and other costs related to the program.

Institution-Funded Scholarships for Developing Countries

Established for-profit and non-profit institutions also award scholarships to students from developing countries to further their education.

For for-profit organizations such as banks, these scholarships are part of their Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) towards the community that awarded them.

However, for non-profit organizations like foundations, the provision of such scholarships is rooted in their mission.

OFID Scholarships (Any Approved Country)

OFID (OPEC Fund for International Development) offers a fully funded scholarship to qualified applicants from developing countries who wish to study for a master’s degree at an accredited university from around the world subject to approval.

The OFID Scholarship Award winner will receive tuition support of up to US$50,000 plus a monthly allowance to cover living expenses, books, and accommodation.

Aga Khan Foundation Scholarships (Any Approved Country)

The Aga Khan Foundation offers a limited number of scholarships each year to outstanding postgraduate students from selected developing countries who have no other means of financing their studies.

The foundation awards this scholarship once a year on a 50% grant50% loan basis through a competitive application process.

Also, the Foundation helps students only with tuition fees and living expenses. Generally, the scholarship holder is free to choose a reputable University of his choice subject to approval.

Swedish Institute for Global Professionals (SISGP) Scholarships

This is a new Swedish Institute (SI) scholarship program and replaces the Swedish Institute Study Scholarships (SISS). SISGP offers a large number of scholarships for Master’s programs starting in the fall 2023 semester.

The Wells Mountain Foundation, through the Empowerment through Education (ETE) program, awards scholarships to national students from developing countries to study in a neighboring country or in their country of origin.
