The TAFL course is an intensive, interactive course developed to the methodology of teaching Arabic to non-native speakers. It addresses both practical aspects of teaching Arabic as foreign language and the underlying linguistic and cognitive processes. Sharek Centres offers this course to the young students and will start with theories of second language acquisition and theoretical background on methods of teaching foreign language before moving to the practical aspects of teaching, the four language skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking).

Sharek Centre will focus on a number of important questions confronting the teacher of Arabic as language such as teaching, grammar, designing a syllabus and writing lesson plans. Applicants will learn about teaching Communicative Arabic for specific purposes and Arabic through context such as Drama and Storytelling. Applicants may also get an access to a variety of Arabic Language teaching and learning resources and develop skills in creating your own materials and resources.The scholarships is aimed at teachers of Arabic (of future teachers of Arabic) with varying levels of experience.

There will have a full time and part time option.

Full time Option:

3 weeks (25 hours per week) 2 weeks of practice teaching for non professionals teachers will take immediately after the end of the. Next intake will be on October 2017.

Part time option:

Every Saturday( 25 weeks run)

Autumn Term: October 21st- December 16, 2017. A total of 9 Saturdays.

Winter Term: January 6th- March 17, 2018. A total of 10 Saturdays.

Spring Term: April 7th- May 12, 2018. A total of 6 Saturdays.

Eligible for the Application

Applicants must be a native or near native speakers of Arabic. 19 years and above with right to remain in United Kingdom with a degree and/or a minimum of one year’s Arabic Teaching experience.
