Tsinghua University is located in Beijing, China. Here the major public research university has a membership and is a current member of multiple plans and projects that are founded in the city. While the university was founded in 1911, the university has the incredible ability to count several famous alumni such as notable leaders in science, engineering, politics, business, academia, and culture.
The university has been ranked amongst as one of the best universities in the world multiple times by QS World University Rankings and by THE Asia University Rankings as well as the U.S. News and World Report.
Most famously, the university is known for engaging in immense research by offering over 50 plus bachelor programs, 150 master’s programs, and 110 doctoral programs through multiple linked college campuses and 60 known departments covering everything and anything from art, science, language, math, STEM, engineering, medical, and more.
The university is associated with so many different types of projects, memberships, and grand breaking research that Tsinghua has far exceeded its own reputation. Tsinghua is an associate member of the Consortium Linking Universities of Science and Technology for Education and Research (CLUSTER). Tsinghua is a member of a Low Carbon Energy University Alliance (LCEUA), together with the University of Cambridge and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
When it comes to admission to Tsinghua, both undergraduate and graduate students will see that the university is extremely competitive.
Undergraduate admissions are as follows:
- domestic students are chosen by a program called gaokao
- the Chinese national college entrance exam must be taken
- depending on how many high school students applying for college each year is measured, there has been an excess of results in overall acceptance rates far lower than 0.1% of all test takers
- only about 15% of MBA exams are awarded acceptance to the university
This school is known around the world as the most prestigious university in the world. Tsinghua University has consistently been ranked among the top universities between international and general globe rankings. It ranked as the number one university in China entirely.
On a top global scale, the university has initially been rated as the 10th best university in the world, however, the university has been able to move up closer to the number one spot in the last two years.
Tsinghua University has been the only Asia-Pacific school that has appeared as a top 10 global dedicated institution that provides and produces some of the world’s most powerful leaders and innovators this planet has seen.

Applicants must only be from the countries that are on the associate list for the “belt and road initiative:

All applicants must have Bachelor’s Degree or a degree equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree that is represented in China.
All applicants that do apply must hold some kind of office, administrative managers.
All applicants must be under the age of 45, and this is a heavily age-restricted scholarship.
All applicants must show a minimum of at least 5 years of working experience, so all should present their resume/CV.
All applicants that submit an application must show that they have scored high on their English proficiency test.
Any scanned documents can be in either Chinese or English, any other language will not be accepted.
Requirements
To start off the application, beforehand, all individuals that are looking to apply should be accepted to Tsinghua University. After an individual has been accepted to the university, they will then need to set up a university account which requires a login and password.
Above are the first steps towards actually locating the scholarship application and being able to apply online.
For anyone to apply online they will need to have a passport that is valid and active. If anyone carried a passport that is expired, that individual would need to renew their passport before applying for this scholarship.
How to Apply
Once an applicant has secured their login and password for the university website.
The big step is that every application must prove that they have a Bachelor’s degree. This means the certificate that is awarded and given during graduation will need to be included, the original copy.
All candidates must provide their academic transcripts along with any projects that they may have led or helped with.
Candidates will need to provide a “Personal statement” that is a minimum of two pages in length. There are no maximum amount of pages listed.
There are two letters of recommendation requirements, however, for this scholarship, it is very specific. One letter of recommendation has to be from a past or current employer. While the second, letter of recommendation must be from a professor. No family members, friends, or another party that is not an official can be the writer of the letter of recommendation.
Along with the end exam results from the English Proficiency Test and a Foreigner, Physical Examination Form will need to be included with the submission of this scholarship application.
Reward – Extra Benefits
The entire coverage of this scholarship is as followed:
- 120,000 RMB granted per individual recipent
- accommodation subsidy 3,000 RMB per month
- living allowance of 3,000 RMB per month
- also, a small amount of health insurance is granted to students who are coming to China to study
Deadline
The official deadline date is March 5, 2022. While the open submission date has not changed, there could be a chance that the deadline date is moved up. If this does happen all applicants will be notified and should frequently check the website linked on this page.
Open Submission Window Time Frame
The open submission window time frame is from December 21, 2021, to March 5, 2022. This is the only open submission date available per year. It has not changed.
Annual
This is an annual scholarship that has a deadline once per academic year.
