Normal semester costs average out to either a minimum of $50 to a maximum of $100 per semester. This is a lot more affordable and lower than most countries. This is indicated if a student decides to attend a public university. However, if a student wishes to attend a private institution, they will be looking at an average tuition of $1,000 per semester.

But, what about the living cost? How much does rent go for, along with food and daily necessities? Typically, food and extra is around $150 per month. Where we have rent added in, everything could be a comfortable $300 a month. This is extremely affordable considering some colleges in the United Kingdom have an average living rental of $3,000 per month or more.

Cost of Average Tuition and Living for an International Student

Every new student wonders how much of their own money will need to go towards tuition and paying rent if they live off campus. While living areas are dependent on where they are located within Chile, for example the higher living cost; the most expensive cities to live in are:

Student can expect to pay an average of $1,100 maximum for rent, food, clothing, utilities, and any other daily necessity.

Tuition in Chile will come to about $7,600 per academic year starting as an undergraduate. Chile is deemed as one of the higher tuition areas for international students but still relatively more affordable than other places in the world. As always, private tuition will be about $2,000 more than the public tuition that is available.

Cost of Living and Tuition

Tuition is determined on domestic nationality and international. However, the other affect is that the course of study and duration of that program. For example, if the program extends 6 months, a student will be expected to pay more in tuition that the standard. For and undergraduate degree program the cost varies from $1,400 and $1,800 USD for each semester at the Brunei Institute of Technology.

Then as we take a look at a Master’s program, they average out to about $3,200 at the Brunei Institute of Technology.

Students will find out that cost of living in Brunei is relatively low. A student that is attending full-time university but leaves off campus can expect to pay anywhere between BND 1,000 to BND 1,500 (700 plus USD) to cover all accommodation, food, daily necessities and seasonal things.

Low Cost Means a Better Chance at Achieving a Ph.D. Degree

It is true that while the lower living cost can benefit in many aspects of life, one that students don’t think about… happens to be that students who chose a country to earn their higher education in with a low living cost, can do exceptionally well by earning a Ph.D. degree while they are studying in that country. While that was a bit long winded, it goes to show that students will be able to have the better advantage at securing and completing their higher education that scores at a Master’s degree or a Doctorate.
