Up to $9,000 Eiffel Excellence Scholarships for Masters and Ph.D. in France 2021/22

The Eiffel Excellence Scholarships program managed by Campus France seeks to attract the best foreign students to pursue masters and doctoral studies in France.

Areas of study eligible for the Eiffel Excellence Scholarships

The scholarship only supports students in the following 7 areas of study:

Science and Technology

  1. Biology and health
  2. Ecological transition
  3. Math and digital
  4. Engineering sciences

Human and social sciences

  1. French history, language and civilization
  2. Law and political science
  3. Economy and management

Overview of Eligible Programs

The offer of the academic programs is in French and some programs in English. Those interested in the Eiffel Masters scholarships can consult the following lists of programs in French and English (it is important to check if they are part of the eligible study areas).

Additionally, the Master’s programs eligible for the Eiffel scholarships have the following durations:

  • 12 months for an enrollment in Master 2
  • 24 months for enrollment in Master 1
  • 36 months for an enrollment in an engineering cycle

Instead, Ph.D. scholarships are awarded for a maximum of 12 months.

Eligibility Criteria for Postgraduate Scholarships in France

Those interested in the Eiffel Scholarships must be admitted to an academic program related to the areas mentioned above. There may be language or previous experience requirements depending on the academic program of interest.

Likewise, those interested in the Eiffel Excellence Scholarships must meet an age criterion :

  • Master’s degree: the student must be a maximum of 25 years old at the time of application
  • Doctorate: the student must be a maximum of 30 years old at the time of application

Similarly, this program is open to people of any nationality other than French, including all Latin American countries.

Benefits of Master’s Scholarships

Fellows for the Master’s level will receive the following benefits:

  • monthly allowance of € 1,181 for room and board
  • Round trip travel expenses from the country of origin
  • Social protection and health insurance
  • Cultural activities offered by Campus France

It is important to mention that the fellow may request a period of linguistic preparation. The cost of the preparation program is not covered by the scholarship, but the scholarship recipient can request the monthly allowance for up to a maximum of two months.

Benefits of PhD scholarships

Scholarship recipients for doctoral-level will receive the following benefits:

  • monthly allowance of between € 1400 for accommodation and meals
  • Round trip travel expenses from the country of origin
  • Social protection and health insurance
  • Cultural activities offered by Campus France

Application process and dates of interest

Interested parties must be nominated by the various higher education institutions in France. Subsequently, a committee of experts will select the scholarship recipients.

Finally, the Eiffel scholarships to study in France open annually. Usually, the closing date for the nomination is in the first days of January.
