Currently, the most respected program is the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (EMJMD) scholarship, which is open to Latin American and worldwide students interested in pursuing a master’s degree in Europe.
Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree Scholarships
The EMJMD scholarship offers joint master’s degrees ( joint degree ) in several countries, in other words, is to perform a master’s degree in more than one institution. Each semester is studied in a different country and/or a different university.
Additionally, EMJMD programs have a duration of 12 months up to a maximum of 24 months. However, most are 24 months at two or three different colleges.
Offering EMJMD programs for master’s degrees
Today, there are almost 150 EMJMD joint master’s programs that can be done in different areas of study :
- Economic Sciences
- Environment and Earth Sciences
- life sciences
- Engineering and information science
- Mathematics, chemistry and physics
- Social sciences and humanities
Likewise, it is important to remember that all EMJMD programs have scholarships or financial benefits for the student.
Requirements to apply for an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree scholarship
Usually, to access the EMJMD scholarship programs the following requirements must be met:
- Have a bachelor’s / undergraduate degree
- Language certification for the destination country (in some programs English is sufficient)
- Meet the requirements of the university and country of destination
Similarly, the scholarships do not have age requirements or previous work experience.
However, it is important to remember that the eligibility criteria of each master’s program should be carefully reviewed since there may be extra requirements.
