The World Bank Fellowship Program contributes to the World Bank Group’s mission to forge dynamic new approaches to capacity building and knowledge sharing in the developing world (Ethiopia).

It is an important component of the Bank Group’s efforts to promote economic development and shared prosperity by investing in education and human resource development in the developing world. Since 1982, the Program has helped build a group of more than 6,000 well-trained and experienced development professionals, transforming their countries and positively impacting future generations.

OFID Scholarship Award for International Students

The OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) awards its fully funded scholarships to qualified applicants in all OFID member countries  who have obtained or are about to complete their bachelor’s degree and who wish to study for a master’s degree at an accredited university around the world. 

Through its scholarship scheme, OFID aims to help highly motivated and self-motivated individuals overcome one of the biggest challenges to their careers:  The cost of postgraduate study.

The scholarships are worth up to $50,000 which covers tuition fees, monthly allowance to cover living expenses, housing, insurance, books, relocation allowances, and travel costs. This is one of the scholarships for Ethiopian students in Canada.

WMF training through educational scholarships for students from developing countries

The Wells Mountain Foundation, through the Empowerment Through Education (ETE) program, offers several scholarships.

These scholarships are exclusively open to students from developing countries who are pursuing a Bachelor’s degree. Up to 30 prizes are awarded annually.

ETE scholarships range from $300 USD to $3000 annually and are provided through the recipient’s undergraduate education. The average scholarship amount is $1400. Scholarships can be used for tuition and fees, books and supplies, and room rent.

The scholarship is for a bachelor’s degree in any field, but applications are encouraged from those interested in pursuing degrees that will better help their local communities: medicine and health sciences, community development, law, education, social work, business, information technology, agriculture, and engineering.

UBC International Leader of Tomorrow Award

The International Leader of Tomorrow Award recognizes international undergraduate students who demonstrate superior academic achievement, leadership skills, involvement in student affairs and community service, recognized achievement in fields such as the performing arts, sports, debate or creative writing, or external academic competitions. and exams.

The award is renewable for up to three additional years of undergraduate study, or until completion of the degree, whichever is less, provided the student achieves satisfactory academic standing in their faculty, continues to demonstrate financial need, and maintains their study permit and Canadian (visa) .

University of Manitoba Graduate Scholarships

The University of Manitoba is a public university in the province of Manitoba, Canada. Located in Winnipeg and found in 1877, it was the first university in Western Canada.

Quest University Scholarships for International Students in Canada

MMMF Scholarships for Women from Developing Countries in USA/Canada

MMMF Scholarships for Educational Scholarships ARE on a competitive basis for exceptional women from developing countries who have financial need and are committed to working to empower women and children.

Applications are made online on the MMMF website (www.mmmf-grants.org) during the periods indicated for each program cycle (US/Canada, South Africa and Latin America). Women applying for the MMMF grant must meet all of the following criteria:

• Demonstrate a commitment to working to empower women and children in developing countries.
• Demonstrate financial need
• You intend to return to a developing country within two years of completing a degree or you intend to stay in the developing country for at least two years to work for the empowerment of women and children.
• You are 25 years old at the time of the application deadline (see detailed instructions on the application)
• Demonstrate satisfactory academic performance
• Be a citizen of a country that is on the MMMF Country Eligibility List (see the list on the mmmf-grants.org website)
• Be enrolled in an accredited academic institution at the time of application and plan to be enrolled for a full academic year upon receiving the scholarship.
• Not be a relative of a World Bank Group, International Monetary Fund or Inter-American Development Bank staff or their spouse
• Not have previously received an MMMF grant
• You must be enrolled as a full-time student on a relevant student visa (see detailed instructions on application)
• You cannot have: US citizenship or permanent residence (green card) or Canadian citizenship or Canadian immigrant status.
