What is MOBC

Ministry for Welfare of Minorities and Other Backward Classes, Manipur was established on 7/30/1998 for the welfare of minorities and OBCs.

The main objective for the creation of MOBC is to take measures to protect the interests of minorities and other disadvantaged class communities and also include welfare programs/arrangements for minorities and other backward classes in the state.

The main objectives are to take measures to protect the interests of minorities and communities in the OBC and to include state welfare programs/plans.

During the Eleventh Plan period, emphasis is placed on improving socio-economic conditions, a continuation of post-matrical and pre-matrical scholarships for OBC students, the construction of OBC hostels, training programs for professionals, and remedial coaching.

Recently, the Ministry of Minorities, the Government of India, launched special programs for minority communities.

Below are the different MOBC scholarship schemes available for OBC students.

Indian students can also apply for other available scholarship opportunities.

Post-Matric Scholarship for Minority Students (100% CSS)

The goal of the plan is to award scholarships to deserving students from economically weaker sections of the minority community in order to provide them with better opportunities for higher education, increase their rate of achievement in higher education, and improve their employability.

The scholarship will be awarded for study in India at a public or private senior secondary school/colleges/university including government residential institutes and eligible private institutes transparently selected and notified by the State Government/Territorial Union of Correspondents of Management.

It will also cover technical and vocational courses at Industrial Training Institutes / Industrial Training Centers affiliated with the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) of classes XI and XII.

Pre-Matric Scholarship for Minority Students (100% CSS)

The Pre-Matric Scholarship will encourage parents from minority communities to send their children to school to lighten their financial burden on school education and sustain their efforts to help their children complete their school education.

The scheme will form the foundation of your educational achievements and provide a level playing field in the competitive work environment. Empowerment through education, which is one of the goals of this scheme, has the potential to raise the socio-economic conditions of minority communities.

The scholarship will be awarded for study in India at a government or private school from class I to class X, including residential Government institutes and eligible private institutes selected and transparently notified by the State Government and relevant Union Territorial Administration.
