Scholarship details
Academically excellent students who are nationals of any commonwealth countries and are wishing to pursue a full-time doctoral degree program in Singapore are invited to apply for the Commonwealth scholarship program, 2018. Candidates who are academically sound and excellent and are seeking admission to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in a university in Singapore are eligible to apply for this Commonwealth scholarship.
If one is already enrolled for a PhD degree program, they are not qualified to apply for this scholarship program offered by the Commonwealth as this scholarship is solely for freshmen who are neither residents of Singapore nor natives of Singapore. A number of qualified applicants are chosen by the institution (Nanyang Technological University Singapore) for the award every academic semester.

If an applicant’s country is not among the commonwealth member countries, they shouldn’t bother applying for this scholarship program provided by Commonwealth.
The application deadline for this scholarship program offered by the Commonwealth is 31st January 2018.
Applicants must possess an undergraduate degree. Plus, successful scholars of the commonwealth scholarship program should not be on any form of salaried occupation. They should not combine this scholarship with any other scholarship, fellowship, grant, bursary, or any extra serving pocket money throughout the period of this Commonwealth scholarship.
The Commonwealth scholarship will last for 1 year only. After that period, it will be renewed depending on the academic performance of the scholar. The maximum period for this scholarship for students enrolling for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program is four years only.
This scholarship program provided by Commonwealth will be taken at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore.
The scholarship award covers the annual tuition fees of the scholars, plus they also receive a monthly living allowance worth up to S$2,000. This amount may vary based on the institution’s discretion. Candidates will be notified via written notice once changes are applied to the amount awarded.
