Scholarship details
The Walton Scholarship program opens its scholarship annually to students from Central American countries and Mexico who wish to carry out their undergraduate studies in the United States.
Scholarships to study in the United States
The scholarship program was created in 1985 by Sam Walton, founder of Walmart, and his wife. Its objective is to promote entrepreneurship and democracy in Mexico and Central America.
Therefore, the scholarships provide the opportunity to 60 students from Mexico and Central America who wish to study in the United States.
The scholarships offered by this program are complete, therefore students will be entitled to be exempted from tuition and other college costs, one roundtrip air ticket for each year of study, lodging, and meals within the university, university material, and a monthly stipend equal to USD 125 for personal expenses.
The application process is done by completing the online form. Subsequently, the Walton Scholarship committee will contact the applicant requesting the necessary documentation to continue the process. Finally, the same committee will select the scholarship recipients.
This student grant offers students the possibility to study any course of their choice at undergraduate/bachelor’s program level at the following Arkansas state universities:
Likewise, the program requires that the scholarship recipients return to their countries of origin at the end of their studies.
