Scholarship details
At the Antigua and Barbuda University of Health or commonly referred to as the University of Health Sciences Antigua, students will be able to pursue higher education in the medical field.
The academic programs will have these include classes that are part of each program:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) Program
- General Biology I with lab
- Inorganic Chemistry
- Introduction to Psychology
- College Algebra
- English
- Medical Terminology
- Study Skills
- Sociology
- Calculus
- Cellular and Molecular Biology
- Organic Chemistry
- Human Anatomy and Physiology
- Introduction to Health Promotion
- Biostatistics
- English III- Conversational
- Microbiology
- Medical Ethics
A lot of these classes include a lab with each course.
The nest class for the University of Health Sciences Antigua have started at the beginning of October 1, 2022. However, the 2023 academic programs are still open to more students who wish to apply and become a regular students on campus. This is a scholarship that ensures the student attends class in person and lives on campus.
Eligibility
- This scholarship is for Ukraine students looking to transfer to Antigua and Barbuda to continue their medical training.
- Ukraine students must have already been studying medical courses in Ukraine beforehand.
- This is a full 4-year ride scholarship that will cover all necessary costs.
- The student must apply to become a student at the university, and there is no application fee when the student decides to send in their admissions application.
- Students are asked to be on campus and in person attending to utilize this scholarship.
Requirements
The only real requirement is that the student has already taken at least one year of medical courses before transferring over to the University of Health Sciences Antigua.
Items required during the admissions application process:
- Application
- Bachelor degree or higher is accepted
- Transcripts must be in English or translated into English. Original non-translated transcripts must be sent directly to UHSA Admissions.
- Statement
- At least two letters of recommendation are required.
The required courses for a Bachelor’s degree includes the following:
- Organic Chemistry (with lab)
- College-level Mathematics
- General Biology
- College-level English
- General Physics with lab
- General or Inorganic Chemistry
How to Apply
All students have to do is begin transferring to this university and they are automatically entered to win the scholarship. There is a limited number of scholarships available so this does act as a first come first served basis.

Student Visa
At this time Ukraine students will be able to be awarded a visa through the university. A faculty member will help each student to secure a direct route to the country to continue their academic schooling.
The university will help any students will the correct steps needed to take when it comes to a student visa or a student refugee passage so there is no problem for the student to pursue their academic education for as long as needed.
Reward – Extra Benefits
Students will earn $50,000 over a 4-year period to cover their entire education tuition. Around $5,000 will go to each academic term during the duration of the student’s program. This does mean the $50,000 will not be gifted all at once, instead it will be spilt up into fragments of $5,000 to go towards each academic term.
It is suggested that students can apply for further funding if needed. Along with accommodation being potentially covered as long as the student says they need extra accommodation coverage.
Deadline Time Line
There is no official or hard deadline present. It is also stated that the university does not have an official deadline and they do accept applications at different times of the year. These applications are reviewed within a weekly basis. Meaning students will be notified fairly quick about whether or not they are a great fit for this higher education institution focusing on Medicine.
Open Window Submission Time Frame
Since the university accepts application on a daily and rolling average basis. This means students can submit when they want to and as soon as possible.
Annual or Renewable Scholarship Options
This has now become an annual scholarship for Ukraine students. There is no need to renew since this scholarship continues after the student is awarded the first time.
