Scholarship details
The Ernie Davis Scholarship is a scholarship that is granted to a student who has exemplified the values that were practiced by Ernie Davis while the time that he was alive. Leadership, integrity, courage and humility are some of those values. Spreading the stories about the life of Ernie is also be needed.
However, the committee is also granting another scholarship that is named as Harrigan Scholarship to a graduating high school student in Chemun County, or a high school in Corning, New York. The student must also have a value that exemplifies in spreading the word.
The applicant shall have a record of being a socially responsible citizen of his or her high school and community. The student applicant should also have participated in a varsity team in a sport that has a team. If financial need is a reason for applying for this scholarship, it will also be considered.
A project will be created by the applicants that contains events or activities that spread the word about Ernie Davis, or just volunteering for more than 44 hours while spreading the word about Ernie Davis.
Materials needed are, a completed application form, an essay that is typewritten, reference letters (two), a GPA of 80 or higher, class ranks and SAT or ACT scores, parent/legal guardian’s most recent tax return, and any material that is used for the project or volunteer service.
