The Chalmers University of Technology offers a doctoral fellowship in the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering, for international students successful. Academic session 2022/2023.

The project aims to develop a design guide for wooden structures that are adaptable to changes in use and local damage to structural elements by introducing the concept of Design for Adaptation (DfA).

Applicants should have a good understanding of structural engineering and enjoy both experimental and analytical work. In addition, they must have some knowledge, courses, and/or a master’s thesis project in wood engineering, wood materials science, life cycle engineering, finite element analysis, programming (e.g. Matlab and/or Python), simulation and computational methods, or other areas of direct relevance to research.

Students who are interested in applying for this position must first submit an application for admission through the university’s admissions portal. After that, they can complete the scholarship application form, online.

Students must present the following documents: CV; Personal letter; Certified copies of complete education, qualifications and other certificates. To gain admission, applicants must have a master’s degree from a recognized university.

Package Offered:

  • The scholarship offers full-time employment, with a monthly salary paid at Chalmers for a maximum of two years.
