Scholarship Eligibility
Before applying for a scholarship program, it’s essential to ensure that you meet the eligibility requirements. - Applicants who are interested in pursuing a full-time Ph.D. program can be considered for the HKU-PS Programme. Due to the high level of competition, applicants who apply for the HKU-PS Programme during the Main Round, which runs from September 1st to December 1st, are advised to also apply for the Hong Kong Ph.D. Fellowship Scheme to increase their chances of being accepted.

Application Process
In order to be considered for the scholarship, students must submit their application through an online portal that is provided by the university. The HKPFS Electronic System must be completed before the deadline for application.
Keep in mind that the program choices and departments cannot be amended after the application process for the scholarship program. All applications must be completed including additional materials needed to support the scholarship application. Late and incomplete applications will not be considered.
Scholarship Awards
The University of Hong Kong Graduate School will provide a scholarship package amounting to up to US$53,960 for the scholar’s first year and up to US$51,390 for the subsequent years during their studies at the university.
The amount will be covering the following:
- Cash awards to support the scholar’s living expenses and research
- Waive the composition fees
- Postgraduate Scholarship
- Travel allowance for the conference annually
- Financial support for the outstanding students
- A possibility for renewal will be awarded to a guaranteed hall place 1.
