Are you a student from one of the selected Asian countries who wants to study at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in the UK? Do you have a passion for your chosen subject and a desire to achieve academic excellence? Do you need some financial support to pursue your academic goals? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you might be interested in applying for the CV Starr Scholarship.
The CV Starr Scholarship is a scholarship that LSE offers every year to students who are enrolled in a one-year taught master’s programme in any subject. The scholarship is open to students who are nationals of, or domiciled in, the following countries at the time of application: Burma, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Northern Mariana Islands, Palau, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
The scholarship is worth approximately £5,000 and is awarded as a tuition fee discount. The scholarship is awarded for one year of full-time study at LSE. The scholarship is competitive and based on academic merit.
The scholarship is intended to encourage and reward students who have demonstrated exceptional academic potential and commitment in their previous studies, as well as to support them in their studies and living expenses in the UK. The scholarship also aims to foster goodwill and understanding between LSE and the selected countries, as well as to enhance the reputation and influence of LSE as a leading institution in social science education and research.
The scholarship is open to applicants who meet the following criteria:
• They have a confirmed place to study at LSE in one of the eligible master’s programmes.
• They have an average of 55% or above in their previous studies or equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.
• They are international students paying overseas fees.
• They are not receiving any other bursary or scholarship from LSE or another organisation.
To apply for the scholarship, applicants do not need to submit a separate application form. They will be automatically considered for the scholarship once they have received an offer on the master’s programmes by 27 April 2023. The applications will be judged on their academic merit.
The CV Starr Scholarship is a valuable opportunity for students from selected Asian countries who want to study at LSE and benefit from its excellent teaching and research in social science. The scholarship not only covers part of the tuition fees, but also provides access to the facilities and resources of LSE, as well as opportunities to network and participate in events and activities. The scholarship also contributes to strengthening the ties between LSE and the selected countries, as well as promoting the role and reputation of LSE as a global institution.
