One of the challenges most students face is how to reduce, if not completely alleviate, their financial burdens. Accordingly, if you are a student attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in the United States, then this scholarship, the Beyonce Homecoming Scholars Award program may be the miracle you have been praying for.

Beyoncé, through her BeyGOOD initiative, partners with several organizations to provide a $100,000 scholarship grant to benefit four Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) she selected. However, through the partnership, this Beyonce Scholarship is now being awarded to eight HBCUs, meaning the inclusion of four more schools in the four.

Therefore, this post will give you all the vital information you need to know about Beyonce’s BeyGOOD Homecoming Scholars Award program. This information includes scholarship worth, eligibility, how to apply, deadline, scholarship link, and answers to some frequently asked questions (FAQs).

What is the Beyonce Homecoming Scholars Award Program?

The Beyonce Homecoming Scholars Program, formerly the Formation Scholars Award Program, is part of the BeyGOOD initiative that she awards to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

One student from each of the selected Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) will receive the scholarship to further their education. Historically, black colleges and universities are institutions of higher education in the United States that were established prior to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 with the intention of primarily serving the African-American community.

Previously, four scholarships, one per university, were awarded to incoming, current, or graduate students pursuing studies in creative arts, music, literature, or African American studies.

After making history as the first black woman to headline Coachella, Beyoncé expanded the scholarship program she launched with new donations to four traditionally black colleges.

Currently, this Beyonce scholarship has expanded to eight schools in its second year with the help of a Google.org partnership.

According to Maab Ibrahim, Google.org program manager

Google understands the vital role that Black colleges and universities historically play in delivering high-quality, culturally responsive education.

In recent years, Google has launched innovative programs to bridge the gap between Silicon Valley and HBCUs; We’re proud to continue that commitment by matching Beyoncé’s generous donation.

What is the BeyGOOD initiative?

BeyGOOD is an extension of Beyoncé’s charity initiative. It was originally created during the Mrs. Carter World Tour in 2013 to help the victims of Hurricane Valley. Over the course of the tour, BeyGOOD worked with local charities in the cities where Beyoncé performed to help raise funds and awareness for local causes.

Since then, the BeyGood Initiative has expanded. Currently, the foundation offers scholarships, DoGood campaigns, and other charitable activities in collaboration with some corporate bodies.

BeyGOOD is built on the belief that we are all in this together and that each and every one of us can make a difference by giving back.

Through impactful dynamic partnerships, BeyGOOD’s mission is to set an example of giving back and rewarding while empowering others to do the same with what they have in their own communities.

The BeyGOOD Initiative has partnered with Google, UNICEF, and many others.
