It also provides postgraduate programs in civil, water, and safety engineering, architecture, planning, and urban design, energy and renewables, construction management, geoscience, petroleum engineering, marine, environment, and climate change, as well as housing, real estate, and social policy. Chemical, mechanical, computer science, and electronics and electrical engineering are among the engineering degrees offered by the university’s School of Engineering and Physical Sciences. It also provides bachelor’s degrees in physics and chemistry. Heriot Watt University has a number of noteworthy alumni, including Theodore S. Clerk, the first architect from Ghana and developer of the port city of Tema, Sir Nicholas Grimshaw, Swan medal and prize-winning physicist Iain Baikie, and Maurice Tulloch, CEO of Aviva.
