Question:
My daughter has literally applied for dozens of online scholarships, and has not heard back from any of them. Don’t they ever respond to applications? She is a 4.0 student and very serious about her next step in college, but is getting disgruntled with the lack of responses.
Answer:
Hi, we understand your frustration about this. This is not over our power to answer on behalf of all these Universities or Scholarships institutions where you say your daughter has applied. It’s entirely up to them who they want to grant (approve) for their scholarship(s). Maximum, what we can suggest is to try to contact directly some of those Universities and check what is going on with your daughter’s scholarship application.
Hello I’m Achan Jackline from Uganda an undergraduate student majoring in tourism and hospitality management at St Lawrence University (Uganda) have been applying for fully funded scholarships since 2019 but never had any luck. What can I do??? Where can I apply and how???
Congratulations on taking the initiative and looking for ways to further your education! While it can be difficult to find fully funded scholarships, there are some resources that you can take advantage of to increase your chances at success.
First, you should try searching online databases like the Institute of International Education’s Scholarship Search or Fastweb’s database of scholarships. These databases list thousands of scholarship opportunities from governments, universities, foundations, businesses and other organizations so they are a great resource for finding potential funding sources. Additionally, African-specific scholarship search engines such as Africa Scholarships Online or Afrocentric Network also provide more tailored searches that focus on offering funding specifically for students from various African countries – including Uganda!
You should also reach out directly to universities and government bodies in Uganda as well as international organizations offering grants within the country. For example, The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) offers internships throughout India and with luck might offer full scholarships too – check out their website for more information about these internship opportunities. In addition, many universities have dedicated departments that focus solely on student financial aid – reach out directly via email or phone call so they can better understand your needs and interests.
Finally, consider reaching out to family members or friends who may already have experience applying for scholarships in order to get advice on where best to apply and what strategies were most successful when they applied themselves! It is always helpful to have people who can provide personalized guidance when searching for something this specific like external funding sources applicable only in Uganda. Best of luck!
