Who is this grant for?

The UNIL Master’s grants at the University of Lausanne are scholarships of excellence for master’s studies and granted exclusively to students who have graduated from a foreign university, whose academic results are of a very high level. UNIL awards around ten of these scholarships per year. The scholarship is awarded for the minimum legal period of the program chosen by the student.

ABOUT THE MASTERS
The University of Lausanne will offer 42 master’s programs in 2021.
All programs, with the exception of the Master of Science in Nursing and the Master of Health Sciences, can be taken part-time.

IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO APPLY FOR THE FOLLOWING MASTER’S PROGRAMS
a. Master of the Faculty of Medicine
b. Education teacher
c. Master of Law. Exceptions open to applications for master’s scholarships: specialties “International and comparative law” and “Legal theory”
d. Master’s degree in criminal law, specialty magistracy
e. Master of Science in Physical Education and Sports Didactics
f. Master of Science in Health Sciences
g. Master of Science (MSc) in Sustainable Technology and Management
h. None of the Ph.D. programs

What benefits do the UNIL Master’s grants offer at the University of Lausanne?

The scholarship amounts to 1,600 Swiss francs per month from September 15 to July 15 (or 10 months a year) for the full duration of the master’s degree (one and a half or two years depending on the master chosen), except for the cases of the Unfinished or failed master’s degrees after the first year.

IMPORTANT NOTES
a. All candidates are informed that the amount of the scholarship awarded is not sufficient to live in Switzerland.

c. Students offered a scholarship will be exempt from the fixed enrollment fees for the courses, with the exception of the CHF 80.00 fees to be paid each semester.

What are the key dates?

Grant opening: September 13, 2021.

Applications are open for the academic year 2022-2023. Application deadline: November 1, 2021.

November-December: Processing of applications by the Office of Social Affairs and Student Mobility (SASME) and the Admissions department (SII)

January-February: completed applications are transferred to the colleges for consideration of their eligibility for the chosen master’s degrees.


February-March: SASME informs candidates whose application has not been accepted by the faculty.

March: The Masters’ Scholarship Selection Board selects the candidates to be offered a Master’s scholarship.
Beginning of April: candidates are informed of the decision of the selection panel.
