General Description

This scholarship is tailored for Latin Americans who want to do a master’s degree at the University of Salamanca, Spain.

International student mobility is a desirable element in university education and a means to improve the quality of teaching and, therefore, is of benefits to both students and higher educational institutions.

In the case of Latin American countries, this international mobility is a module capable of contributing to the configuration of an Ibero-American Knowledge Space that favors integration and greater cohesion between the Latin American and European higher education systems by favoring cultural and human contact of your students.

International mobility attracts the best of the best to universities that offers an enabling environment for that. In addition, it is included among the objectives of the Campus of International Excellence Studii Salamantini of the University of Salamanca, an institution that, with the sponsorship of Banco Santander and the collaboration of the Carolina Foundation, and the Colombian Institute of Educational Credit and Technical Studies Abroad, announces up to 33 scholarships to study the official master’s degree during the academic year 2021/2022, aimed at Latin American students.

Scholarship Period

The scholarships will be valid during the academic year 2021/2022 (from October 1, 2021 to July 31, 2022).

What does the scholarship cover?

Exemption from the academic tuition fees of the master’s degree for which the scholarship holder is selected. In master’s degrees with a duration greater than one academic year, only this program will finance the 60 credits of the first year; the rest of the credits will be borne by the interested party.

a. Accommodation and meals in USAL University Residences, in a double room, from October 1, 2021 to July 31, 2022. As of this date, no extension will be granted.

b. The renunciation of accommodation and / or maintenance will not imply the right to receive any compensation, unless the scholarship holder is studying at the USAL Campus in Ávila, Béjar or Zamora.

b.1. During the Christmas and Easter holiday periods, the residences of the University of Salamanca will remain closed, so the expenses corresponding to the accommodation and maintenance of these periods will have to be assumed by each scholarship holder.

b.2. Changes in the type of accommodation and meals will not be accepted.

c. Medical insurance for the coverage of expenses derived from illness or accident, accident and civil liability insurance (from September 1, 2021 to August 31, 2022).

d. The administrative fees, the amount of the evaluation of the foreign degree file and the expenses for issuing the corresponding degree, will be paid by the scholarship holder.

and. The use of the scholarship will be conditional on the corresponding official master’s degree being awarded and being accepted by the Academic Committee of the same.

F. Once the scholarship has been awarded, no changes to another master’s degree will be accepted, except in the following cases:

f.1. No admission to the master’s degree by the academic committee of the program.

f.2. Failure to impart the official master’s degree.

f.3. In both situations, the scholarship holder may request another official master’s degree, for which the admission process will be required.
