This award provides funding for international Master’s students who wish to pursue their studies at the University of Otago. This scholarship supports students during the thesis period of their research master’s degree.

Scholarship value
The value of the scholarship is NZ$15,000 per annum including a tuition fee waiver for one year. The scholarship excludes insurance and student services fee.
Eligibility
The following are the scholarship eligibility parameters;
- Applicants must be obtaining their first Master’s qualification
- Applicants must be an international student
- Applicants must be undertaking a thesis-based Masters program
It is important for applicants to note that selection for the scholarship will be based majorly on academic merit and applicant’s capacity for research. Considering the limited number of this scholarship, applicants would need to have very good grades to be successful. Therefore, the university suggests that prospective students only apply if their grades at the later part of their degree was at A or A+.
