Scholarship details
Masters scholarships are awarded to foreign students graduates who have outstanding academic track-record.
The University of Lausanne offers ten scholarships a year to individuals who distinguish themselves academically. However, candidates need to consider that the scholarship awarded is not sufficient to cover living costs in Switzerland.
In the way of benefits, successful students will be granted a scholarship for the minimum period of the duration of the studies they have chosen. The amount of the scholarship is CHF 1,600 per month and spans the period from 15 September to 15 July (or ten months a year) for the complete duration of the masters.
Nevertheless, candidates may be stripped down of the grant money if they fail their exams at the end of the first year.
In order to be eligible and apply, students need to have a foreign university degree which is on par with UNIL bachelor at the beginning of their masters programme in the university. Outstanding academic results are mandatory so that candidates may be considered. A minimum of B2 according to the European Language Portfolio global scale in either French or English is mandatory.
Candidates must not have been registered in UNIL in the past. In addition, students must have already paid the CHF 200,000 administration fee.
