The African Academy of Sciences (ASS) is collaborating with the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. As part of the partnership, the three foundations will select promising and academically apt candidates and send them to study in the United States as part of the 2018 academic year. The African Postdoctoral Training Initiative is open to all candidates who are willing to pursue knowledge at the highest level of study.
All APTI fellows will be part of an international training programme that will allow them to advance at the highest level of science. They will be allowed to lead important research programmes, which will have beneficial results on all and sundry.
The initiative will successfully support candidates in up to 50% of all their expenditures, which will make the studying process much easier.
In order to qualify, all candidates will have to fulfil the following prerequisites:
- Must be citizens and currently in employment of a governmental institution in an African country;
- The ideal candidates must have less than five years of experience as a researcher
Applications can be submitted starting from 11 April 2018. Everyone is quite free to participate as long as they fulfil the criteria listed above. You can reach the sponsorship by dropping a line to firstname.lastname@example.org.
