The Confucius Institute of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart is now inviting candidates who want to participate in the Hanban Scholarship Initiative. The scholarship will take place in the 2018 and 2019 academic year. The People’s Republic of China is the hosting country. All non-Chinese individuals are welcome to apply for this language programme in the country.
Applicants whose native tongue is not English will have to sit an internationally-recognized exam to prove their mastery of the language. All applicants are welcome to submit their candidacy by 30 May 2018.
The scholarships will be available across the undergraduate and master level of study. The scholarships will be awarded for candidates who are interested in becoming teachers of Chinese. The language programme will stretch up 11 months.
The amount of the scholarship is modest, but it would allow the 5 students who are on the top of the applicants list to foot some of the bills.
However, the scholarship will not cover a number of expenditures, including travel expenses and visa, your accommodation, other than the basic campus and all non-listed expenditures that may follow.
Candidates may access the official website here. Remember to apply ahead of the schedule and submit your proof of command of English.
