Scholarship details
Established in 2009, the Satola Family Scholarship has been helping young individuals affected by cancer get better chances in life by having a good education. These individuals may be the cancer victims itself or a loved one of a cancer victim. This scholarship aims to honor the selflessness, determination, spirit and courage of the individual while battling a very deadly disease.
The requirements for the Satola Family Scholarship is that the applicant has to be between ages 15 to 39 years old when diagnosed of cancer but eventually surpassed it. Applicants can also be the loved ones of the deceased cancer victim or a loved one of a cancer patient undergoing treatments. Furthermore, the applicant must show willingness to undergo college and is a United States citizen.
The total worth of the scholarship is $2,500 over two semesters. The fund will be paid directly to the successful applicant’s school of choice. As return, the successful applicant is obliged to participate in organizing and running a bone marrow registration drive in their school of choice to support the “There Goes My Hero” drive.
