About the Scholarship Provider
MPOWER Financing is a social enterprise that provides loans and scholarships to international and DACA students who want to study in the US or Canada. MPOWER believes in addressing inequality in education and empowering high-potential global citizens to realize their educational aspirations and become tomorrow’s leading scientists and innovators. MPOWER has supported over 4,000 students from 200 countries and regions and has partnered with over 350 schools in the US and Canada.
The MPOWER Women in STEM Scholarship is open to female students who are 18 years or older and who are currently enrolled or accepted to study full-time in a STEM degree program at an MPOWER-supported school in the US or Canada. The scholarship is open to international and DACA students who are legally permitted to study in the US or Canada. There is no requirement to be an MPOWER borrower to apply for the scholarship.
The scholarship is available for students who are studying or planning to study in the US or Canada.
The scholarship awards three prizes annually: a grand prize of US$ 6,000, a second prize of US$ 3,000, and a third prize of US$ 1,000.

How to Apply
To apply for the scholarship, you need to complete an online application form that requires you to provide your personal information, academic information, and a short essay. The essay should describe how you plan to use your STEM degree to benefit society and the planet, and how you have served as a role model and advocate for women in STEM. The essay should be no more than 500 words.
Countries that Can Apply
The scholarship is open to female students from any country or region who are international or DACA students in the US or Canada.
To be eligible for the scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
- You must be a female student who is 18 years or older.
- You must be an international or DACA student who is legally permitted to study in the US or Canada.
