Scholarship details
As a tribute the legacy of Coach Mike Lozano, the Lozano family with the help of the Amarillo Area Foundation established the Mike Lozano Memorial Scholarship. The $5000 grant will be given annually to student athletes displaying academic and athletic excellence to deserve the scholarship rightfully. It is open to any High School senior student-athletes from the northern 26 countries of the Texas Panhandle.
Eligible applicants are those who are graduating in High School this coming summer 2018. The applicant must also be a student-athlete having represented the school in any competitions internationally or locally. A minimum of 2.0 GPA is required of the applicant while a cumulative 2.5 GPA will be asked of him/her in his/her stay in college. The student-athlete must be planning to attend any accredited university with a degree in education or coaching. After college, the recipient must also teach or coach in the High School level.
To apply for the scholarship, applicant may contact the scholarship provider or the partner foundation. The application form must be completed and submitted together with other supporting documents that may help the committee decide on the application. Applicants may also inquire and ask questions through the foundation’s website.
