Scholarship details
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico is a collaboration with the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID) is opening its 2018 Mexican Government Scholarship Programme for International Students.
The Scholarship is available to foreign nationals who are willing to undertake studies in one of a number of areas, including studying for specialization, working on a master’s degree or a doctorate, conducting graduate or postdoctoral research, or participating in the undergraduate or graduate-level exchange programme.
More specifically the scholarship is opened to all regions through a multitude of bilateral conventions, multilateral programme and special agreements maintained by the government. Over 70 Mexican institutions are involved in various academic programmes, part of the National Council for Science and Technology (CONACYT) and considered National Quality Graduate Programmes.
All applicants must meet certain eligibility criteria, including a Bachelor, Master’s or PhD degree depending on the programme they are applying for. A minimum academic performance of 80 is mandatory so that one’s application may be considered. Applicants must also be enrolled in a programme of the participating Mexican Institutions in the Call. Restrictions to residency apply whereby individuals looking to win the scholarship may not be living in Mexico at the time of application.
In choosing winners, several criteria will be considered, including whether the applicant’s specialization in Mexico is related to their academic and job history. The academic track record of the candidate will also be taken into consideration. Interested parties may apply until 28 September 2017.
