About Us KFC Colonel’s Academic Program
The KFC Colonel’s Scholars Program was established in 2006, a year before the global recession, and was run by a business administration. Weather than originally expected. Brand owner KFC Yum’s success in the Chinese market temporarily declined in December 2012, due to a problem with its chicken supply.
From December 2012 to February 2013, the scholarships for KFC Colonel’s Scholars, which is from KFC Corporation university scholarship. The program was put on hold. Since the application period typically begins on December 1 each year, applications for the 2023 KFC Scholarship will not proceed as scheduled.
The KFC scholarship was modified in 2013 to focus primarily on helping its hourly restaurant employees and shift managers continue their education through the REACH-KFC Educational Grant Program.
The REACH Educational Scholarship Program helps employees of participating KFC restaurants in the US fulfill their dream of going to college. Employees of any age, and any position, who earn a degree will receive cash awards to help them attend the accredited four-year or two-year college of their choice.
Grants can also be used in career/trade schools and for postgraduate study. The Educational REACH Grant program provides winning employees with college tuition assistance, reimbursement for qualified education expenses, and access to discounted textbooks.
What you need to know about the KFC scholarship
The KFC Scholarship (also known as the Colonel KFC Scholars Program) was a college scholarship program offered through the Kentucky Fried Chicken Foundation, a non-profit charitable organization.
This program was available to all high school graduates who plan to attend a public college or university in their home state with accreditation. College-bound seniors could earn up to $20,000 for up to 4 years in this scholarship program.
Scholarship/Field Level
The scholarship is available to high school seniors, high school graduates (or equivalent), or undergraduate college, graduate, or trade/vocational school students (students of any age may apply) who are employed by KFC US and wish to continue their college education.
The scholarship is no longer being offered to new applicants for future graduates, although KFC continues to support the past 4 scholarship winners. Past winners are still eligible to receive $20,000 grants and renew their scholarship for 4 years.

KFC Restaurant General Managers, Assistant Managers, Shift Supervisors and Team Members can apply for college tuition assistance funds. Selected managers will receive $3,000 for the academic year; the previous REACH grant recipients receive $2,500 and first-time recipients receive $2,000.
Selected student employees who win in the spring round are not eligible to apply again during the fall round. Employed students may apply to receive funds each calendar year.
