The John Dillon Memorial Fellowship was established by Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research by Professor Joh L. Dillon. The scheme to serve the memory of Professor John Dillon by providing a career development and opportunities for the outstanding young agricultural economists and scientist from ACIAR associated countries who are involved a project of ACIAR,8-10. The amity aims to enhance leadership skills in the field of agricultural research management, policy and extension technologies. This program is to provide exposure to all Australian agriculture across a wide range of best practice group involving research, extension and policy making.

The programs are created between ACIAR and the selected group to meet the needs of fellows and to their employing groups. The fellowships also provides a career enhancement opportunity in Australia for agricultural research management in partners with ACIAR and foreign countries. This with the extent of the primary objective of ACIAR to develop leadership skills in the area of agricultural research management, policy and extension.

Thus,all applicants must be incorporated with ACIAR projects that are active or even completed the last two years of the project.  The ideal person would be a little more senior than those nominated for John Allwright Fellowships, but former JAFS are eligible to apply.
