Jacqueline Shearer was a strong and loving woman who served as a sister, a daughter, and a friend to all. During her 11 and ½ year battle against a brain tumor, Jacqueline never lost hope and as a tribute to that courage, the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults established the Jacqueline Shearer Memorial Scholarship.
The scholarship was made to help young adults to pursue college after being affected by a cancer either personally or indirectly through a struggling loved one. The applicant must only need to submit a general application form in order to be considered for the numerous scholarships offered by the foundation.
In order to be eligible for this specific scholarship, the applicant must be a citizen of the US aged 15 to 39 years old. The applicant must also be a resident of DC, Virginia, or Maryland. The applicant must be accepted to or attending a University or a 4-year college in any course, on the bachelor’s degree of study.
The scholarship will amount to $2500 and all application materials must be submitted before March 1, 2018. For more information regarding the scholarship, interested individuals may visit the website of the Ulman Fund for Young Adults.
