Israeli Government offers scholarship for international students who are willing to go and study in Israel. Applications are now open for academic year 2018- 2019. The government of Israel gives the scholarship to encourage potential foreign students in academics.

Applicants must hold a BA or BSc degree or higher. He or she must have a good academic  record. Scholarship is given for summer languages courses (Ulpan) and for research studies or one academic year. Applicants should be a citizen of the country where he or she applies and must not exceed the age of 35 years old. Israeli citizens are not allowed to apply for the scholarship.

One of the basic requirement is the proof of English or Hebrew language proficiency. Interested foreign applicants who are outside the home country will have to pass the English language requirement to be able to study. The awardee of the scholarship must have a student visa (A2), issued by the Embassy or Consulate of Israel to which the application was submitted. Israeli University to which the applicant applies should meet the required academic requirement of the chosen university. The granting of scholarship is given only when the university or institute approves the application of the candidate.

State of Israel, Ministry of Foreign Affairs offers the scholarship as agreed in the Cultural Agreements between Israel and the following countries:

Argentina, Austria, Belarus, Bulgaria, Canada (Quebec Province), China, Colombia, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Korea, Lithuania, Latvia, Mexico, Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Republic of Serbia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain and Turkey.

The next set of countries have special scholarship agreement:

Belgium, Denmark, Germany, India, Great Britain, Finland, France, Luxembourg, Japan, Norway, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Russia.

The scholarship includes partial tuition fees, monthly allowance for one academic year or 8 months only and basic health insurance.

The accommodation, travel and transportation to and from Israel is not included in the scholarship package. The grant is only for students in the universities and programs approved by the Israeli government. Ulpan language studies will be granted of scholarships by the ministry of Foreign Affairs.
