IBM’s 2020 Call for Code Global Challenge is offering a $200,000 grand prize, $25,000 runner up prize and $10,000 third and fourth-place prize for those who submit innovative technology approaches using IBM systems to tackling the impact of the deadly COVID-19 coronavirus. In addition to the prize money, winners will also have the chance to have their project invested in and implemented globally.
COVID-19 has shown the enormous importance of networks and information technology to handle increased traffic and demands during times of crisis, including helping people find vital emergency information quickly, work online, find ways to still complete educational goals and accessing medical services effectively, as well as many more challenges that the contest winners will address in their project.
Any developer over 18 from the United States or around the world is invited to apply via IBM Systems or IBM Cloud services. Teams of up to five are permitted and entries will be judged by how complete and transferable the idea is, how effective it is, how use-friendly it is and how innovative it is. The deadline is April 27, 2020.
