Herzog-Ernst-Scholarship will celebrate its 15th year anniversary in 2018 giving out scholarship to all those who continuously works in the collections for the Library Gotha Research. Since way back 2004, this foundation had been supporting valuable programs roughly more than 300 educational projects.
Based in the Friedenstein Castle in Gotha, The Gotha Research Centre is the academic Institution of the Erfurt University. Its main purpose is to gather and preserve the collections of important manuscripts of the historical culture of Germany.
Gotha Research Centre was the foundation offering the Herzog-Ernst-Scholarship-Programme which aims to develop more researchers in Germany. The scholarship is intended for the Doctorate and Post Doctorate Degree.
For Doctorate Degree the scholarships will run up to 9 months with a grant value of € 1,100 monthly monies, while Post doctorate Degree will be given until 6 months of scholarship grant worth € 1,600 per month.
Scholarship course level are only for the Doctorate and Post Doctorate programme which shows interest in the development of Research in the Gotha Library. Awardees will take their scholarship at Erfurt University in Germany. This is open to all International students without restrictions to origin countries.

- Application Form
- Resume
- A brief outline of the project (2-5 pages)
- Recommendation letters from two references
- Certificates and Awards
- A publications list, where applicable
