Heather B. Kendall Memorial Scholarship of Coshocton Foundation is looking for an excellent student to financially assist in terms of tuition fees and school expenses. A scholarship amounting $500 shall be awarded each year to a graduating senior either from either Coshocton High School, River View High School, Ridgewood High School, or the Coshocton County Career Center. They are also open to students who are Home schooled and is willing to attend a two- or four-year college or university in the field of special education or a career related to helping disabled individuals.  A graduating senior with a disability is also eligible to apply for this award.

 

In order to qualify for the assessment, interested students must complete and submit the necessary documents. The following documents are:

  • Applicants should complete approved application form (the standard Coshocton Foundation Scholarship Application)
  • Copy of letter of acceptance from an accredited degree or certificate granting institution
  • Copy of high school transcript or equivalent record of academic performance showing a GPA of no less than 2.50 and no more than 3.50
  • Wallet-size photo of applicant (senior picture excellent)

Applicants also need to provide evidence as proof of strong ability to complete the chosen course of study. Information about student’s disability, information about student’s intention to pursue studies in special education or a field leading to a career of helping disabled people, and information about financial need are also needed as attachment to the application.

Application and attached documents should be submitted by February 28, 2018 to their respective high school guidance offices. For home schooled students, application with the important documents shall be submitted to the Coshocton Foundation, P.O. Box 55, Coshocton, OH 43812.
