In the event to continually relive the Indian history culture the J. Gonda Fund Foundation supports educational studies pertaining to the study of Sanskrit, native Indian communicative languages and historical literatures. Since the year 1992, J. Gonda Foundation provides funds to support projects and publication of Indian Gonda Lectures. John Gonda who was a true blooded Indian spearhead this foundation with his belief that Indian culture is part of the Indian lives.
The J. Gonda Foundation is now open in accepting all applicants for a PhD scholarship which will be taken at the Royal Dutch Academy of Sciences. This is in line with the mission of the foundation to support the students coming from Netherlands who are very much interested to study Indian culture.
Availability of the course level is for PhD course programme. Scholarship grant is being offered only in areas of Sanskrit, Indian Languages and Literature of Indian cultural history.
An amount worth € 3000 and € 10,000 is awarded to cover school fees but not to cover the salaries. Awardees of the scholarship will be taken at Netherlands provided criteria of the scholarship must be met.
All students’ residing from Netherlands are welcomed to apply and must pass the college admission requirements at Royal Dutch Academy of Sciences prior to grants and awards.
