Scholarship details
Getty Foundation provides its full support to the Getty/ACLS Postdoctoral Fellowships in the History of Art. The aim of the scholarship is to give an intensive research in lieu of the early scholars in the field of art and history. The scholar awardee will provide its research as the main output of the scholarly work. Scholarships exclude funding to the works like novels, films, textbook or pedagogical projects. It merely entrust its focus in the history and arts in order to relive the culture of the study of early scholars.
A number of 10 fellowships will be awarded by the ACLS with corresponding salary and stipend worth $60,000, plus $5,000 intended for the filed research and travel expenses. A one week residence may be rewarded in stay at Getty Research Institute following the fellowship period.
The American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) is now open in accepting applicants internationally. This institution is a non-profitable organization. It is a federation of 75 members of scholarly organizations geared towards social sciences and humanities.
Scholarship is only for Post doctorate degree research in the field of history and art. Substantial amount is given for the researcher to finish the course degree.
Eligibility of the scholarship
a. The applicant was able to finish PhD from September 1 to December 31, 2016.
b. Those who are presently employed in the field of humanities may likewise allowed to apply.
c. This is open to all international students regardless of country of origin, location and employment.
d. Competency in the English Language is required
