For the first time ever in Africa, a Master of Laws (LLM) degree in International Trade and Investment Law is available. The University of Cape Town offers a degree in this subject area in its undergraduate and graduate programs. It will build an African-focused higher education and training program with full access to the global business and investment sector in Africa. Pretoria’s University of Pretoria and the University of the Western Cape (UWC) have teamed up to offer the degree in conjunction with Makerere University in Uganda, American University Washington College of Law in Washington D.C. and the Universities of Amsterdam and Erasmus in the Netherlands. The Centre for Human Rights oversaw its creation, and it is now presenting it to the public.

Starting in 2017, the University of Pretoria’s Centre for Human Rights in the Faculty of Law has announced that its prestigious LLM program in International Trade and Investment Law for Africa would begin in January rather than July. Beginning in 2017, this new policy will be in force. Changes in international trade and investment law, such as the growing body of case law, prompted this revision to the LLM curriculum. Regulation of commercial activities and adherence to human rights norms on a global scale As well as a growing awareness of the social and environmental responsibilities that businesses have.

For this reason, students in the LLM program will now be able to interact with those in other master’s programs at the Centre for Human Rights, which will allow them to gain a better understanding of the shifting perspectives on business’s role in protecting workers’ rights, the environment, and society as a whole. International approaches to human rights, social and environmental obligations of businesses, and their significance for international attorneys will be better understood by LLM students in this curriculum.

About the Scholarship:

The University of Pretoria (UP) is widely recognized as both one of the top educational institutions in all of Africa and as South Africa’s most comprehensive contact university. UP also holds the distinction of being the country’s oldest educational institution. In an effort to discover solutions to the most pressing issues that currently exist in the world, we engage in research that has a societal impact. Since we are one of the most prestigious research universities in South Africa, we have made it our mission to discover solutions to the problems that are now being faced by the world’s societies. Students from all around the world have expressed an interest in working and studying at our exceptional facilities alongside our world-class researchers, and we are equipped to meet their requirements.

The University of the Philippines (UP) is home to nine faculties that provide educational opportunities at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Gordon Institute of Business Science is one of these faculties (GIBS). Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania do research that is both ground-breaking and up to the most recent standards, and it is designed to meet the needs of both the United States and the rest of the globe. UP is at the forefront of higher education and works with partners that are considered to be among the best in the world. This helps to ensure that the university’s research, as well as its teaching and students’ ability to learn, is of the highest possible standard. The institution places a significant emphasis on the research, instruction, and service it provides, all of which make great use of technology that are at the forefront of their respective industries. Bones that were 3-D printed were used in the world’s first successful middle-ear transplant, which was carried out by a team from the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Toronto.

A woman who had undergone a non-surgical kind of artificial insemination to generate their kids gave birth to the world’s first lion cubs. This type of insemination was used to develop their offspring. Researchers from the Mammal Research Institute and the Faculty of Veterinary Science at the University of Pittsburgh were part of the multinational team that took the first photograph of a black hole. This was accomplished by utilizing antennas located all over the world in conjunction with one another. The world now has an image of a black hole as a result of their efforts, which are greatly appreciated. UP is the first university in Africa to collaborate with projects for science, innovation, Territories, and economy, and it is also the first university in the globe to collaborate with the Montpellier University of Excellence. Both of these accomplishments make UP a pioneer in higher education (I-SITE MUSE)

It has been stated that the University of Pretoria (UP) is the first university in Africa to utilize the customer service robot that UP owns. The University of the Free State (UP) in South Africa is home to the very first Library MakerSpace in the country. This is a creative laboratory that pairs people who have ideas with those who have the technical skills to make those ideas a reality. Here, people with ideas collaborate with others who have those technical talents. Both imparting knowledge and receiving it are included here.

The standard of instruction and education that is carried out not only in our schools but also in our communities and online is of an exceedingly high standard. Because we have support systems in place for our students, they will be able to graduate on time as well-rounded, responsible citizens who are entirely ready for life after university. This will allow them to be completely equipped for life after university. Not only in the nation in which we were educated, but also in other parts of the world, our degrees are recognized. If you put UP after your name and have a qualification, it will never go missed since we have agreements in place with the relevant legal accrediting bodies all over the world. This ensures that if you put UP after your name and have a qualification, it will never go unnoticed. We are tremendously proud of our capacity to encourage innovation by seeing to it that the Technology Transfer Office at the University of Pittsburgh patents UP creators’ innovations in a manner that is sufficient (TTO). Over ten new companies have been established thanks in large part to the efforts of the TTO. These companies are together responsible for the employment of over two hundred people, the vast majority of whom are graduates of the University of Pittsburgh.
