Within the School of Philosophy, Psychology, and Language Sciences, this scholarship is given to postgraduate students who are interested in pursuing a master’s degree in Psychological Research.

 

About the Scholarship Provider:

It was founded in 1096, making it the first municipal establishment in the history of the English-speaking world and the sixth-oldest university in the United Kingdom. It was the first European collective to originate in the Americas. Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, is also the location of the esteemed Institute of Edinburgh. The main bus and train station in Edinburgh is within walking distance of more than 25 hotels and other types of lodging. About two kilometers from the heart of town, Pollock Hall offers 1,900 beds and a café to its guests. Guests can use either the public or private restrooms, depending on their preference. The city has a wide variety of student housing options, including apartments and dorms. There are a number of different layouts to choose from, and each apartment can accommodate up to six people. At the start of each academic year, the University of Edinburgh offers its students a free housing consultancy service to help them find affordable, private housing in close proximity to campus.

For many years, this illustrious establishment has served as a benchmark for excellence in education, innovation, and development. Peter Higgs, a professor at the institution of Edinburgh and the director of the Roslin Institute, which is linked with the institution, is widely regarded as a pioneer in the field and was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2013. The Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded to Professor Higgs in 2013. In a recent evaluation, British universities were found to be responsible for producing 38% of the world’s top research and 45% of the internationally good research. The entire city of Edinburgh has been designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The Scottish government is headquartered in Edinburgh.

 

The city has been known as the “Athens of the North” since the 18th century due to its historical and cultural significance. A superb example of Old World eco-friendly urban planning. The University of Edinburgh is largely responsible for establishing Edinburgh’s well-established culture and environment. Readers of the Observer, Condé Nast Traveler, and the Guardian have all voted Edinburgh “Best City in the UK” every year since 2001. Condé Nast Traveler also placed it first. Due to Edinburgh’s central location, the winner won’t have any trouble reaching the city from any part of the globe.

Scholarship Offer:

  • One scholarship that will cover the standard level of tuition fees for MSc studies in the UK is available.  Applicants who are obligated to pay foreign tuition fees will be responsible for paying the price gap that exists between the rate of fee charged in the UK and the international tuition fee.  The eligibility period for these awards will be one calendar year.
  • Each recipient of a scholarship grant is expected to be an active participant in our postgraduate community and will take advantage of opportunities to present their work to the entire student and staff body during the time period that is covered by their award. 

 

The Gustafsson & Skrondal Visiting Scholarship is administered by the University of Oslo’s Centre for Educational Measurement (CEMO). As part of the visiting scholar program, CEMO and the University of Oslo host a number of young researchers from Norway and elsewhere each year.

 

Eligibility for Scholarship.

  • Students who have been offered a place in one of the following degree programs offered by the School of Philosophy, Psychology, and Language Sciences at the University of Edinburgh will be eligible to receive one of the scholarships that will be available.
  • The recipient of the scholarship will be chosen based on their overall academic performance.
  • The deadline for the scholarship is the 31st of May, 2023 at 11:59pm British Standard Time.

If a student enrolls in one of the degree programs offered by SOAS University of London, they may be eligible to receive a fee waiver award in the amount of £5,000. This award is available to students who are interested in receiving a degree from SOAS University of London.
