The Biozentrum welcomes young scientists from all over the world who are talented, ambitious, and highly motivated to apply for the fellowships that are offered by the Biozentrum Basel International PhD Programme. These fellowships are widely sought after because of their prestige and quality. The Biozentrum PhD Fellowships are awarded on the basis of a competitive process to a maximum of ten successful candidates each year. This is in contrast to the majority of other PhD student programmes, which aim at the widespread recruitment of a large number of candidates.

About the Scholarship Provider:

There are various rankings for colleges and universities. Consistently placed among the highest-ranked educational institutions in the entirety of Switzerland is the University of Basel. The University of Basel is recognised as a premier educational establishment not only in Switzerland but also across the rest of the world. It has a very rich history, and it takes great pride in the traditions that came about as a result of that history. According to a number of different rankings, the university is positioned inside the top five percent of all educational facilities across the globe. The BASEL majors that are the most sought after by students include “Arts and Humanities,” “Engineering and Technology,” “Life Sciences and Medicine,” “Natural Science,” “Social Sciences and Management,” “Physics,” and “Chemistry.” BASEL is among the top 300 schools in the world and is considered to be of the highest educational quality, making it one of the greatest schools in the world according to this criterion. University graduates in Switzerland are highly valued workers, thus finding work after graduation is not difficult for them. This is because of the prestige that comes with a university degree.

The University of Basel is considered to be a medium-sized educational establishment due to the fact that it has close to 12,000 students enrolled in its programmes. Applicants from other nations, in addition to those from the United States, are strongly invited to submit their applications. Students from over a quarter of the world’s nations were enrolled in this school. The teaching staff is made up of nearly a thousand distinct professionals who each have their own area of expertise. The lecturers come from a variety of different countries, and the majority of them are recognised authorities in the disciplines in which they teach. The student exchange programme at the university is often recognised as one of the most appealing features of the educational establishment as a whole. You will have the opportunity to learn more about the activities that take place at the institution if you follow the university on social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and Linkedin. 1460 was the year that witnessed the beginning of the establishment of what is now known as the University of Basel. It has the distinction of being Switzerland’s oldest continuously operating educational institution. We take great pride in maintaining a heritage of quality in learning, teaching, and research that dates back more than five hundred years. We have maintained our well-deserved reputation as a university that is capable of drawing faculty and students from all over the world by providing a high-quality education and by taking a forward-thinking approach to new scientific breakthroughs during this time period. This has allowed us to continue to attract staff and students from all over the world. Because of this, we have been able to uphold the reputation that we have worked hard to earn as a university that is capable of luring faculty members and students from all over the world. Because of its location in the centre of Basel and the city’s long history of innovation, the University of Basel is a dynamic and forward-thinking institution. This is due to the proximity of these two factors. In addition to offering a diverse range of appealing programmes at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as access to prominent research networks located all over the world, and a variety of services for both students and the community at large, we are able to fulfil all of your educational needs.

We have only very recently completed a comprehensive review of our programmes in order to bring them into conformity with the Bologna Declaration of the European Ministers of Education. The Education Ministers of Europe came up with the idea for this proclamation in order to strengthen interdisciplinarity, advance the concept of networked research, and broaden the University’s presence and standing on the international stage. It is the mission of the University of Basel to foster research that is among the very finest in the world and to provide educational opportunities that are at the cutting edge of their respective fields. One of our key strategic goals is to produce, enhance, and promote research that satisfies internationally acknowledged criteria of excellence. This will be accomplished by creating an environment and infrastructure that is supportive of our core strategy purpose, which is to generate, enhance, and promote such research.
