The scholarship enables the recipient to participate in a master’s level program(s) in the subject area of agricultural economics offered by the University of Hohenheim. The application for the scholarship must be submitted by the 15th of December. Under the auspices of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the University of Hohenheim is making a select number of full-tuition scholarships for the Master of Science in Agricultural Economics program available to qualified applicants as part of the initiative known as “Development-Related Postgraduate Courses” (EPOS). The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) provides financial assistance to outstanding candidates from developing countries who have an impressive academic and professional background in the form of EPOS scholarships. Scholarship recipients typically have previous work experience in a public authority, state institution, or private company located in a developing country. As a result, they will have been involved in the planning and execution of directives and projects with an emphasis on development policies relating to technology, economics, and/or social impact.

Scholarship recipients of the DAAD EPOS will have their tuition fees for the two years of the Master’s program in Agricultural Economics waived, in addition to receiving health insurance, a monthly living stipend, and travel costs to Germany and back, as well as for research. In addition, they will receive a research grant (see EPOS webpage for details and extras). In addition, prior to beginning the Master’s program, participants are required to complete an intensive German language course at a language center in Germany during the months of August and September before beginning the DAAD EPOS initiative.
