The University of Swansea in Wales, which is located in the United Kingdom, is offering a distinguished award known as the Eira Francis Davies Scholarship. It was given her name in honor of Eira Francis Davies, a Welsh philanthropist and social activist who fought for the rights of children and women.

This scholarship is given to female students from developing countries who are currently enrolled in or planning to enroll in a postgraduate program at the University of Swansea. Its purpose is to provide assistance to women who are dedicated to creating a beneficial influence in their home countries, particularly in domains that help women and children, such as education, health, and social justice. It is hoped that this will encourage these women to continue their work.

About the Scholarship Provider:

From its founding in 1920, Swansea University has had an international effect because to its dedication to research as its guiding philosophy. Both the Times and the Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019 place it among the top 30 universities in the UK. It also ranks as one of the top 30 colleges in the world. This school is widely recognized as one of the greatest in the world due to its outstanding academic record (Times Higher Education Rankings 2020). The university was honored not just by being selected Welsh University of the Year for 2019 and 2020, but also by being awarded Gold by the national Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).

It consistently places in the top 10 of British universities for graduate employability (Destination of Leavers from Higher Education 2018). Swansea is the country’s second-largest city and is known for its thriving arts community and prestigious institutions. Swansea University’s stunning waterfront campuses are a major selling point for prospective international students. Swansea University is the only Welsh university with two campuses that have received the coveted Green Flag Status Award. Swansea University is already firmly established as one of the most research-intensive universities in the United States, thanks to a seventy percent growth in research income over the past decade.

Both the Singleton Park and Bay campuses are home to various academic departments and schools, including the College of Science, College of Engineering, College of Arts and Humanities, College of Human and Health Sciences, Hillary Rodham Clinton School of Law, School of Management, and Swansea University Medical School. The British Computer Society (BCS), the British Psychological Society (BPS), the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS), the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), the Bar Council of India (BCI), the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), the British Cosmetology Association (BCA), and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Its graduates have gone on to become influential figures in a wide range of fields, and the institution has compiled a list of their names. Many notable people, including Annabelle Apsion (an actress), Geoffrey Thomas (president of Kellogg College at Oxford), Jonathan Hill (host of Wales Tonight on ITV Wales), Jason Mohammad (host of Television/Radio Presenter at BBC Wales), Chris White (a referee for the English national rugby team), Graham Ryder (geologist, lunar scientist, and recipient of the National Medal of Science), and many others, attended Swansea University. Submission of a housing application by June 31 is necessary for first-year undergraduate and graduate students to be guaranteed university accommodation. About 4,500 students are housed by Residential Services. The largest facility, located around four kilometers from the main Singleton Campus, has more over a thousand rooms. Standard dormitory rooms and suites with private toilets are the norm on most campuses.

Choices in Student Housing Swansea is a university-sponsored organization that facilitates student access to private rental housing and coordinates group living situations throughout the city. You can easily reach the city proper and the beach from the college campuses by foot. Although the city is more famous for its watersports and the gorgeous landscape along its coastline, students from the United Kingdom flock to for the nightlife and cultural scene. While the sciences have always shown strength, the humanities’ rising international profile is providing a significant boost. With a 97% graduate employment record, Swansea University is consistently ranked among the top 15 UK universities.

Swansea, although being a major city, has a lower cost of living than most others in the United Kingdom. People often say that the city is like a second home to them because of its friendly atmosphere, constant activity, and general sense of belonging.
