About the Scholarship:

Boston University, usually known as BU, is a private non-profit research university with more than 35,000 students from more than 130 countries. It is a private teaching and research institution. The institution, which was founded in 1839, is one of the largest in the city of Boston and the fourth largest in the entire United States. Boston University alumni are among the most employable in the United States and around the world, according to a study published by the Times Higher Education, which ranks the university at the 5th and 6th positions, respectively. Alumnae of Boston University are members of the distinguished Association of American Universities, which is comprised of 62 of North America’s most prestigious research institutions. In addition, Boston University is a member of the Boston Consortium for Higher Education. A few of the popular majors offered by Boston University are Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science. Other popular majors include Economics, International Relations, Psychology, Communications, and Business. Culture is a key component at BU, with more than 500 concerts and plays, as well as 50 or more exhibitions, taking place each year. The University of Birmingham offers more than 20 NCAA Division I university sports. Aside from that, it boasts around 500 student clubs ranging from Ski Racing, shows, seminars, and the Juggling Association. Numerous academic and artistic training programs, as well as a state-of-the-art fitness center, may be found at the university. Located in the South End neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts, the medical center’s campus is home to over 1,000 employees. The institution has three campuses and more than 35,000 undergraduate and graduate students on each of those sites. Approximately 3,989 faculty members work at the university. It is comprised of 10 active schools and colleges that offer more than 300 educational programs that include doctorates in medical and dental sciences as well as business and law degrees. To ensure the safety of all students and visitors, the administration maintains a 24-hour, 365-day-a-year Boston University Police Department (BUPD) that works around the clock to maintain a secure and protected environment for all employees, faculty, students, and visitors. A little more than three-quarters of students reside in student accommodation on or near the campus, which is home to 17 schools and colleges as well as 23 libraries and 450 active student organizations. According to U.S. News & World Report, the university is ranked 42nd among national universities for undergraduate programs and 51st among worldwide universities for undergraduate programs. In its more than 330,000 graduates, Boston University has produced prominent alumni in every field, including finance, politics, law, academia, science, business, and technology. The university has also produced significant thinkers and leaders in a wide range of fields. Nobel Laureates, Rhodes Scholars, Marshall Scholars, Sloan Fellows, Pulitzer Prize winners, Academy Award winners, and a slew of Emmy Award winners are among the many distinguished graduates of Boston University. Its graduates include Julianne Moore and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., as well as seven United States senators and eleven current or former governors of US state governments. As a true residential community in the heart of Boston—one of the world’s most diverse and historic cities—and with four years of guaranteed campus housing and 75 percent of undergraduates living on campus all four years, Boston University’s campus feels like a true residential community in the heart of Boston. The University of British Columbia requires first-year students to reside on campus in order to get the most out of their BU experience. Residential options at BU Housing include large and small dormitories, modern high-rises with panoramic city views, 19th-century brownstones, apartment-style suites, and unique living-learning communities, among other options. Sports, Greek life, the performing arts, and community service organizations are among the many activities that Boston University students participate in. Pre-professional societies, cultural or religious organizations, athletics, Greek life, and community service organizations are among the many activities that Boston University students participate in. More than 450 student groups, 24 Division I sports teams, and more than 40 intramural and club sports are represented at Boston University. Organizations such as Alianza Latina, BU Habitat for Humanity, UMOJA: BU Black Student Union, Stage Troupe, the Debate Society, and the Alpine Ski Team are available for you to join. The annual Splash activities fair, which takes place on Nickerson Field in September, brings together student organizations from all over the university, allowing incoming students to sign up for a variety of clubs.
