The applications for the Fulbright Malaysian Professional Exchange Program for the 2018/2019 academic year are open. The program is offered by The
Malaysian-American Commission on Educational Exchange. It is a 3 to 6 months program where mid-career Malaysian professionals working in both public and private sectors will expand their experiences through consultation, internship, participation in seminars, workshops and other professional enrichment programs in the United States during the 3 to 6 months period. The grant is more suitable for practitioners rather than scholars. Journalists, managers, administrators, and lawyers are all encouraged to apply.

The following eligibility criteria must be met:

Entrants must be Malaysian citizens who hold a master’s degree or an equivalent professional qualification in the field of the proposed program. For those who are outside academy, recognized professionals standing and substantial professionals accomplishment is expected. They also must present a detailed statement of proposed activity for research or lecturing at a U.S. institution.

Entrants must have a minimum of 5 years working experience in the related field. They must hold a managerial position in the private sector or in a government organization and demonstrate a potential for higher responsibilities. Entrants must be proficient in English and willing to share knowledge of Malaysia with social, civic and other groups while in the United States.
