About the Scholarship Provider:

Radboud Institution, located in Nijmegen, has been named the best traditional and general university in the Netherlands. The university is committed to its students and to scholarly inquiry. Radboud University has seven distinct schools, all of which are conveniently located on one of the greenest campuses in the Netherlands. The site features a number of green buildings and state-of-the-art facilities. At the heart of Radboud University’s beautiful green campus is the Nijmegen School of Management (NSM), one of the university’s seven faculties. Here at the N.Y.U. Stern School of Business, we encourage our students to challenge accepted wisdom. By successfully harnessing the advantages of transdisciplinary research and education that permeate particular fields to give societal relevance and responsible practice, we have also distinguished ourselves as a distinctive management school.

The National School of Management combines academic research with classroom instruction to create a challenging curriculum in the fields of public administration, business administration, business economics, geography, the environment, spatial planning, and politics. Many of NSM’s programs are widely regarded as the best of their kind in the Netherlands, and this is reflected in the graduates’ subsequent careers. Because of the individualized attention given to each student, Radboud students have the chance to learn from and work with researchers of the highest degree. Due to the small class size, which promotes student participation, and the professors’ availability, seminar classes provide the best possible learning environment.

Students from other countries can choose from a wide variety of English-taught master’s and bachelor’s degree programs, with many different specializations offered within each. Students often have the freedom to create their own courses, giving them the opportunity to specialize their education and research in areas that truly fascinate them. So doing, individuals can feel secure in the knowledge that their studies are focused on topics that truly interest them. Beyond the borders of the Netherlands, a degree from Radboud University is highly regarded. Students who successfully complete the program will be eligible to acquire a degree from a highly regarded institution that is a member of a similarly respected university system. They will be equipped with the knowledge and skills essential to land a good career in their field.

Radboud invests in internationally prominent specialized research centers. Such facilities include the brain scan equipment at the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition, and Behaviour and the combination of magnets and lasers at HFML FELIX for materials research. The university library’s special collections and the Documentation Centre provide even more resources for academic inquiry. All research at Radboud University is done within the university’s several research centers.

Every student from outside the Netherlands who comes to Nijmegen for their first year of college can approach the Admissions Office for help in obtaining housing for that first year (with the exception of degree-seeking students who already live in this region of Germany). Students who apply for housing aid by May 1 will receive a stipend to help offset the cost of living in Nijmegen. But there can be no assurances given.

The great majority of Nijmegen’s students live in some combination of student housing complexes, student homes, apartment sharing, or room rentals from private homeowners or landlords. Even though there won’t be any roommates, you may end up sharing the kitchen and bathroom with other people. It’s not uncommon for the monthly rent for one of these rooms to cost 500 Euros or more. However, the average monthly rent for a room is between €370 and €470.

As a result of individual differences in earning potential, spending habits, and other factors, it is tough to predict how much money you will need. This table, however, should shed some light on the matter. The average monthly cost of living for a single individual in Nimmegen is around 1,801 euros. Here you may find more details on the current, local costs in Nijmegen.
