With the objective to foster foreign language awareness and development at the secondary and tertiary levels, The H. Dennis and Anne Beaver Foundation has been sending prolific and determined students to France since its commencement.
Back then in 2008, the foundation kindly made a donation to begin awarding a scholarship to undergraduate students to expand their comprehensive summer language teaching program held in France. This is in cooperation and partnership with the administration of the University of Hong Kong (HKU).
Second- and third-year undergraduate student(s) who are taking a major or minor course in French study can be entitled to the scholarship based on their academic performance during their study. Recipients of this program are selected by nomination.
As an Enrichment Scholarship for the university’s current students, one or two scholarships are given annually with a value being verified by the relevant costs in effect upon the announcement of invitations for applicants on time. The expenses covered by the scholarship include round-trip air tickets from Hong Kong, Alliance Francaise charges and other similar charges from any approved French institutions, hotel and accommodation/ apartment rents, restricted rail transports and pocket money.
Any details about the scholarship will be updated through the HKU Scholarships’ website.
For more information regarding the qualification process, kindly submit to the Registry of the Scholarships Office.
