Despite the cost of living, the government helps by providing programs, internships, and scholarships such as the Danish Government Long-Term Scholarships 2023, which are currently ongoing for students who are passionate about academic excellence.

So, if you are interested in Studying in Denmark, here is an opportunity that you should not miss. These long-term scholarships in Denmark. Scholarships are only available to Masters and Ph.D. students.

However, undergraduate students who wish to study the Danish language and literature can also apply if they have studied the Danish language for two years.

Do not be in a hurry to close this tab, because ……

We, the Pick A Scholarship, have published detailed information about these Danish Government Scholarships in this article, including the eligibility criteria, how you can apply if you are eligible, and most of all, the application submission deadline to help you not get lost.

Why long-term scholarships?

The scholarships are provided by the Government of Denmark. These awards from the Danish government under the Cultural Agreements are aimed at highly qualified exchange students who wish to immerse themselves in studies of the Danish language and culture or other fields of study related to Denmark.

However, the Ministry aims to create knowledge, growth, and well-being in Denmark as it takes its place in an increasingly globalized world. The Ministry’s vision is to create the best possible conditions for research, study, and innovation in Europe.

Note, Ph.D. Students must also be employed by or affiliated with higher education institutions in the countries listed above. The scholarships are sustainable during the academic year. The fall term begins on September 1, and the spring term on February 1.

And also, regarding residence permits and/or visas, we recommend that accepted applicants contact the Danish diplomatic representation in their country of origin well in advance of their entry into Denmark.

Please note that applicants at the time of application must be enrolled or must be able to document future enrollment in full degree programs in the countries listed above.

Which Danish institutions offer long-term scholarships?

The University of Southern Denmark offers the Danish Government Scholarship, supported by the Ministry of Higher Education and Science, to certain applicants in recognition of the significant investment foreign students make during their education.

It is only possible to apply for a scholarship for studies at higher education institutions other than Danish scholarships. So, below is a list of Danish institutions offering long-term scholarships in Denmark

  • Aalborg University
  • University of Copenhagen
  • Aarhus University
  • University of Roskilde
  • University of Southern Denmark
  • Technical University of Denmark (DTU)
  • The Royal Danish Academy of Music
  • The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Architecture, Design, and Conservation
