Scholarship details
Established in 2005, the Burger King McLamore Foundation has served as the non-profit charitable organization of Burger King. To give back to the community that has supported the company, Burger King McLamore Foundation established the James W. McLamore WHOPPER Scholarship. The scholarship is open to High School senior students in the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada.
In order to be eligible for the scholarship, the applicant must display academic excellence by having a minimum GPA of 3.3 while scoring at least 25 in ACT and 1700 in the SAT. Community activity and extracurricular involvement will also be taken into consideration for the scholarship. Aside from that, athletics and other personal achievements such as work experience may also be used as basis for the decision.
The scholarship amounts to $50,000 and may be used for educational expenses such as paying for the tuition fee of a 4-year course. Students who have graduated in high school within the last 3 years are also open to apply for the scholarship.
In order to apply for the grant, applicant must simply head to the website of the scholarship where he/she can register and submit the requirements. The scholarship is administered by Scholarship America.
